You may see Section for details. However, some additional points are given here :
- All reinforcement shall be placed and maintained in the position shown in drawings, during concreting.
- Ensure that reinforcement is clean, free from scale, rust, grease, oil and other deleterious matter.
- Ensure that laps in reinforcement are staggered and as far as possible provided in the regions of centraflexure.
- Avoid congestion of reinforcement, so that concrete reaches all locations to provide bond.
- Ensure that proper cover is provided to the reinforcement by placing properly cured cement mortar blocks of correct thickness at least at 1.5 meter intervals.
- Proper pathways are provided over the reinforcement so that the same is not disturbed when workman move over it to place concrete.
- Pay special attention to placement of top reinforcement in cantilevers. It should be so fixed that it does not move to bottom due to movement of workers.
