Masonry provides bulk of the structure through which the loads of the superstructure are transmitted to the foundation. Usually masonry is done with tiles, stones or concrete blocks. It makes the skeleton of the structure over which finishing items are applied. Masonry should be strong enough not only to support the dead and live load but also occasional loads like earthquake, wind etc. It is therefore, essential that masonry work is executed as per the specifications decided by the designer.
