After collecting the data, the results should be analysed statistically. As soon as sufficiently large number of test values are available, the analyses of average value, standard deviation and coefficient of variation may be calculated to see whether the steeipulated quality control standards are being met with. IRC standard specifications and Codes of Practice for Road Construction 1956 may be a useful guide in fixing the quality control standards in addition to 13-456- 1978.
Quality Control Team
It is desirable to have a quality control team earmarked separately. For an average size job it may consist of one technician and two skilled workmen. In addition inspection control has to be provided at the batching and mixing plants and also at work head.
Deviation from ISI Codes of Practice
No major deviation from IS1 Codes of Practice should be permitted. However, where minor deviation is unavoidable, it should he ensured that any deviation allowed would not prejudice the structural safety and other requirements and also would not adversely effect the efficiency and performance of the job when completed.
