At no time the statistical compressive strength of concrete should fall below the design strength. Assumptions made for the purpose of mix design must be clearly stated.
When the source of supply of any of the ingredients of concrete changes, the mix should be redesigned and proportions checked.
In specifying the amount of water to be added to maintain a certain water/cement ratio, allowance should be made for the surface moisture of coarse and fine
aggregates.
Allowance should also be made for diurnal temperature variation.
