Site Selection
There are two methods of selecting a site. In the first method, the alternative sites are considered within a general location and a choice is made of the one that best meets the preliminary objectives of the project, In the second method a client chooses the site location before the planning of the facility. In both the methods, the site should he selected based on a systematic analysis. The factors include natural, social and aesthetic.

Natural Factors
- Geological base and landform
- Topography-slopes, elevation etc.
- Hydrography- streams, lakes etc.
- oils - classification of types and uses
- Vegetation
- Climatic factors - orientation, wind, humidity etc.
Social Factors
- Existing lad use - ownership of adjacent property etc.
- Traffic -vehicular and pedestrian on and adjacent to the site
- Infrastructure
Aesthetic Factors
- Natural features ,
- Views, spaces and sequences
The site should be chosen based on the above considerations.
