Goals and Purposes of Training

The basic purposes of training are as follows : 
  • induction of new employees, 
  • training of apprentices, 
  • refresher training 
  • even out differences among employees, 
  • training for promotion and career development, 
  • training for change in jobs, 
  • training for new jobs, 
  • training for better performance, 
  • training for modernization, and 
  • training for general organisation development. 
Training aims at achieving the following : 
  • improvement in methods of work, quality of production/service, morale of employees, productivity and wider awareness amongst employees. 
  • reduction in machine breakdowns, cost of maintenance, rejects and wastage, accidents, grievances and manpower"obsolescence.
