The Notice Inviting Tender (NIT)

Given the above background, public notices are issued in the name of NOTICE INVITING TENDER(S) (NIT) specifying briefly on location, scope, expected duration, expected cost and other relevant details including :
  1. where and when could the tender documents be obtained and at what cost;
  2. what should be the type of experience and qualification required of the underbidding consortium;
  3. whether the bid will be in two stages (or only in single stage);
  4. what type of tenderloin will it be;
  5. what is earnest money to be deposited with the tender and in what form; and
  6. when would the tenders be opened and what further procedure would be followed before assigning the work to the "successful" tenderer.

Even though, since recently, courts have not taken kindly to negotiations with the tendering particularities after the NIT has been issued and the tenders have been submitted, information that negotiations, if need be, will be held at such stipulated place/time and held by such office is also conveyed in the NIT occasionally. Browsing through any newspaper would inform you adequately in these aspects and details.
